J.B. Wilcox, LSSBB

Pittsburgh Lean Six Sigma TrainingJ.B. is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.  He spent 8 years as a pilot in the Marine Corp where he served two tours in the Western Pacific (Japan, Korea, and the Philippines) and has over 1,500 flight hours.  In addition to his flight duties, he served in a variety of roles including aviation maintenance and as the Director of Safety and Standardization.

His civilian career spans 25 years in both brand and generic pharmaceuticals. He has led both manufacturing plants and sales teams, as well as supply chain organizations and large strategic initiatives. He started his civilian career as a shop-floor supervisor for Schering-Plough. He held increasingly progressive roles in operations before becoming an award-winning district sales manager. As part of the original supply chain management team, he helped implement the first Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.  He then was asked to develop and implement Schering-Plough’s Global Supply Chain Excellence Program. Later, J.B. served as the Head of Supply Chain for Mylan Pharmaceuticals’ U.S. Generic Division, before being asked to lead their manufacturing facility in Puerto Rico.

He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and works toward customer-focused, process-based, and data-driven continuous improvement.  He has a passion for hands-on leadership, cross-functional team building, consensus-based decision-making and establishing open and transparent cultures of teamwork and continuous improvement.  

He currently teaches various LSS process improvement courses for BPG.
